About
‘My best friend was my mother and she was deliberate, clever, patient, soothing… indispensable, neat and useful as a spider’
Louise Bourgeois
The Forgotten Her Story is a platform where we celebrate womanhood, craftsmanship, thinkers and the handmade by telling the stories of some of the most fascinating women of our time.
For centuries, women have not received the recognition they deserve in the most diverse fields simply due to their gender. To understand the history of domestic 'craft' like sawing, embroidery, mending, knitting, crochet, pottery, weaving, gardening, cooking, baking, singing, music, writing, dancing - we must tell the stories of these women and highlight how they have shaped society. The Forgotten Her Story wants to give all these extraordinary women their rightful place in history, shining a spotlight on them. We aim to elevate their stories and illuminate the impact of their creativity, skill, and spirit and how they have shaped the world we live in.
By celebrating the stories and talents of these women, we strive to inspire future generations and ensure that their legacy endures.
